Then spent all afternoon/evening installing it with my dad with much trial and error due to the previous owner's idiocy.

Kinja'd!!!

No more void of nothingness in my dashboard!

The Harman/Kardon system in the car sounds amazing other than the blown out speaker in the passenger door.. Go figure one of them had to be blown out. And this head unit actually doesn't look terrible. The lights nearly match the interior lights and it's all black like the rest of the interior.

Back to the PO's idiocy. The kid/man/dumbass who "customized" the car had every. single. wire. to the stereo twisted together because he cut off the OEM wiring connector to the stereo. This included one wire that controls my interior light dimming. We separated them all and suddenly my dimmer began working again. My dad was surprised the entire electronics system in the car didn't self immolate because of what this dumbass did.

When we go back to pick up the remote that goes to it that the guy forgot to put in the box (we bought the display because it was the last one) we have to ask about why when you push on the volume knob hard enough it loses power. Also we'll have to look into the price of a new door speaker for the passenger side. Fun fun.

Once we have the stereo all sorted we're moving on to getting me new exterior lights. Though I probably won't go stock for the headlights because as douchey as they are I like the angel eyes, just not the chrome headlights they're attached to now.

I also need spark plugs and an oil change which is too damn much because seven quarts Mobil 1 synthetic oil ain't cheap. The NGK spark plugs are though so that's good.

I don't know if they still do, but they used to make these 6x9 to factory hole adapters for the rear speakers. I bought them for my M3 and got a set of 3 way 6x9's brand new for cheap online and it made a good difference.

As far as lighting, I got a decent set of 5000K 9006 HID on eBay that were really good and never gave me any problems. I also got the non amber taillights with an amber bulb and clear front corner lights. De-fogged the front housings and she was good to go.

Hey, it could be worse. My E90 M3 takes NINE liters of 10W-60 for an oil service, plus a tenth for top ups between services. #m3problems
